A pipe leak can't always be handled immediately with a full replacement. The repair clamp lets you seal and keep operating while the permanent repair is scheduled.

What it is and how it works

It's a stainless steel clamp with a rubber gasket that wraps around the pipe and compresses over the leak. As you tighten the bolts, the rubber seals cracks, punctures or corrosion pores.

Basic steps

  1. Reduce or cut the pressure if possible.
  2. Clean the area: remove rust, loose paint and dirt.
  3. Center the gasket over the leak.
  4. Tighten the bolts alternately and evenly.
  5. Restore pressure gradually and check the seal.

Types by leak

  • Single band: small punctures.
  • Double or triple band: longitudinal cracks or greater coverage.

Important

The repair clamp is a temporary or emergency solution. Schedule replacement of the affected section and assess the cause (corrosion, pressure, impacts) so it doesn't happen again.

At YRVIMAR we carry repair clamps from 1/2" to 12" in stainless steel. Always keep a few spares: they're worth their weight in gold in an emergency.
